This quarantine is forcing creatives to get REALLY creative. Where we once had free reign of the world, we are now confined to our respective spaces.
Sitting around at home, I decided to try and get creative. I never really have this much time on my hands, so I figured I would make the most of it and challenge myself to get creative around the house with my camera.
But, I was feeling a bit uninspired. I happened to stumble across a video on Youtube about taking portraits inside his apartment. And so, the bingeing began. I watched probably 20 videos of people taking portraits and photos at home. Here's a few if you're interested:
These got me really excited to try photos at home. And then, it rained and poured for a straight week.
The rain forced me to get creative. Since everything was wet, I went out during a break in the storm (a very humid break) to shoot some raindrops on the foliage.
When the rain finally let up, I begged my sister to come outside with me and be my model. Thankfully, she agreed. I ran her around our neighborhood in search of tropical plants and backgrounds that looked interesting.
I was really happy with these shots, but I wanted to try something indoors. Indoor photography really isn't my specialty, but I wanted to challenge myself. So we wandered the house in search of an interesting area to take a photo. Lo and behold, it was my parents' bathroom. The mirror and the light created a really interesting image that had a very vintage and almost painting feel. It's a different feel than my typical portraits, but I liked it.
Now, it's your turn! Get creative!
